How to do L1 on GeM | GeM L1 process

There are two ways to sell on GeM (Government e-Marketplace). Direct and Bid/RA. We are going to sell our product on GeM by using the Direct Purchase method.

Buyers can place an order on GeM by direct purchase only if the order value is less than Rs 5 Laks. If the order value is less than Rs 25,000 they can simply buy with your link. But when the order value is greater than Rs 25,000 then they have to make a Comparison between the three brands and purchase with the L1 (Lowest one).

Buyers have Filters on GeM by using they can filter your product and do L1 on GeM.

What is L1 on GeM

L1 means the lowest one. GeM is built with the mission to make public procurement more efficient and transparent, therefore there are some rules to purchase products or services. One of the most popular ways is L1.

The buyer has to compare in the category in which the product or service is available between some sellers (greater than 2) and proceed with the purchase with the seller who has the minimum rate for the same product.

Process to do L1 on GeM

There are some easy steps to do your product L1 on the GeM Portal. These are:

Login to GeM Portal and go to the Market section
Search and Find the right category for your product
Find the Filter option and choose the right filters

Login to GeM Portal

First of all, go to the official website of the GeM Portal and log in with your credentials

Find the Market option and click on the button to go to the marketplace

Search and Find the Category

In the Marketplace section on the GeM portal. You will see a search button. Write your category and click on the suggested category

Find the Filter

Choose the filter according to your product's specifications.

Note: If you are unable to find the filters section in the left side, Please make sure you are login on the portal

If you are unable to get your product L1 on that specific parameter then we suggest you do a fresh listing using the right parameters. Also, you need to make sure that you are not using silver parameters for the L1 because only Golden Parameters are valid for L1 on GeM.
