How to list products on GeM - Government e-Marketplace

GeM (Government e-Marketplace) is becoming very popular and there are more than 40,00,000 sellers are already selling their products. There are more than 52,00,000 products are already listed on the GeM Portal. These numbers are really amazing.

If you are a newly registered seller on the GeM then, you must list your product first to participate in the bids of your products.

Note: You can participate in BOQ Bids without listing products

In this post, we will go through all steps required to List a product on GeM.

Keynotes to remember

There are some keynotes to remember before starting listing products on the GeM portal. These are:

You must have to pay the Caution Money to the GeM
You can list your product in Unbranded or Other Brands or in your brand
You need to upload the MRP Document, Catalogue documents, and three different images of the product

Steps to List Products on GeM

Follow these steps to list your product on GeM.

Login to GeM Seller Account
Open Listing Creation Form
Find Your Category
Filling Details
Accept Terms and Conditions
Check Progress of Listing

Login to GeM Seller Account

Before getting started, you need an approved and completed GeM Seller account. Now go to the GeM Seller Login page and log in with your credentials.

Open Listing Creation Form

Find the Catalogue Link (Available on the top right corner) > Products > Add New Offering

The listing creation tab may open.

Find Your Category

Now you can search your category in the search box or simply go through the categories level.

If you have listed your products before on the GeM Portal, you can find those categories in the "My Categories" section and click on the "ADD ITEM" button to list in the same category.

Filling Details

The listing creation form may open with the heading "GENERAL INFORMATION"

Select your brand from the Brand/OEM dropdown or if you want to apply for your brand in the same category, you can click on the "Click Here" button and proceed with the steps

You can list your product without owning a brand name or authorization from a brand owner by choosing "Unbranded"

You can clone the available catalogue's specifications in the same category on the marketplace by entering the product id (You can find it on the product detail page on the marketplace) in the "Clone Catalogue Specification" input

If you do not want to clone a product on GeM then you can simply fill your own Golden Parameters and list a new one. When you will click on the "SAVE/PROCEED" button. You may see a pop-up where the system will show the information about the available catalogue on the same parameters in the same category. Click on "PROCEED WITH NEW ITEM".

Now "CATALOGUE INFORMATION: tab will open. You have to fill the modal name, product name, and the active bid number (if any, for fast listing) in this section

'OFFERING QUANTITY AND PRICE' tab will open. Enter the details as applicable to you

You have to upload an MRP document to verify the MRP of the product. You can upload the available document

Product Brochure
Government Order Copy
GSTIN Invoice
Import Documents
MRP Declaration on OEM Letterhead
Packaging Photo

Select the delivery locations where you can deliver the product

Enter the available quantity and minimum quantity available for the consignee with lead time to direct purchase and proceed

Fill out the "PRODUCT SPECIFICATION" section and upload the required document

Now it's time to upload the images of your product

Accept Terms and Conditions

Once the images are successfully uploaded, click on "REVIEW TERMS AND CONDITIONS".

A new tab will open containing GeM's terms and conditions. You can read them and close the tab

Click on the checkbox, enter the captcha and publish button

Check Progress of Listing

You can simply click on the "Dashboard" link from the model box or go to the "Catalogue > Products > Search My Offerings". You can find the all listing in the respective sections with their status.

A new listing request will be shown under the "Waiting for admin clearance" tab. After the approval, this listing will move to the "Published" tab and if the listing is rejected by the GeM/OEM, this will move to the "Notified" tab.
